View of Positano from the Path of the Gods

Hiking The Path of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei)

Unparalleled views of the Amalfi coastline, Positano, and the cliffs that make this one of the most beautiful places on earth.

The Path of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei) runs high above the Amalfi Coast, linking mountain hamlets with sweeping views of the sea and villages below.

Most hikers start from Bomerano (Agerola) toward Nocelle above Positano. Wear sturdy shoes, carry water, and check bus or taxi plans for the return—what goes down to the coast must come back up unless you ferry out.

What to bring

Sun protection, layers, plenty of water, and grippy soles are essential. Avoid midday heat in summer; spring and fall offer the sweetest hiking weather.
