Where in the World #44

Which country is this photo in? Tap it on the map, six tries.

This photo is from a real G Adventures tour. Which country is it in? The photo is zoomed in and pulls back a little with every miss. Tap your guess on the map — six tries. Each guess colours that country by how close it is: cold cool warm hot burning.

Drag to pan, pinch or use + / − to zoom. Small countries are easier zoomed in. Distances are measured centre to centre, from the middle of your guess to the middle of the answer.

    How it works

Every photo is from a real G Adventures small-group tour, one we've walked through day by day. Guess the country; each miss is coloured on the map from cold (far) to hot (close), with the distance in kilometres. The colours are scaled to the answer's own neighbourhood, so a guess that would be far in Europe can still be hot in the Pacific. Only a country that shares a land border with the answer is marked burning. That distance is measured centre to centre — the geographical middle of your guess to the middle of the answer, not capital to capital — so a large country can read as further away than its nearest coast. Then, if you like, guess the tour's starting price — the price G Adventures advertises per person for the whole itinerary, not a day out.

Curious why the same country can cost 12× more per day? Read our study on what a tour actually costs.
