Arrival in Bangkok

Land in Bangkok, navigate the chaos, and find your way to the hostel. The first night is about settling in and meeting the rest of the crew. There are no major plans, so it's a good chance to shake off the jet lag and grab a cheap beer before the real trip kicks off tomorrow.

Flight to Cambodia, Drive to Siem Reap

This is a full-on travel day. A short flight takes you from Bangkok to Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh. From there, it's a six- to seven-hour overland journey north to Siem Reap, the gateway town for the Angkor temple complex. After checking into the guesthouse, your best move is to score tickets for *Phare*, the Cambodian circus. It’s a high-energy show and a solid introduction to the local arts scene.

Sunrise at Angkor & Pub Street

An early start gets you to the main temple complex for sunrise over Angkor Wat. A local guide leads the group through the site's most famous ruins: the grand scale of Angkor Wat itself, the hundreds of serene stone faces of Bayon, and the jungle-strangled corridors of Ta Prohm, made famous by 'Tomb Raider'.

Lunch is a proper Khmer meal, served either at a community-run restaurant or in the home of a local family. The night pivots to the neon-lit chaos of Pub Street. This is the heart of Siem Reap's backpacker nightlife, with loud music, cheap drinks, and market stalls selling everything from fried tarantulas to temple paintings.
