Day 2 of 7A morning walk covers some of Helsinki's key landmarks. Follow the main artery of Mannerheimintie, see the Parliament and National Museum, and stop at the Oodi, the city's striking central library. The route ends at the white granite form of the Helsinki Cathedral. The afternoon is free for independent exploration before boarding the overnight train north, a 12-hour, 824km ride into Finnish Lapland.

Reindeer & Huskies of Lapland
Day 3 of 7The train arrives in Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland. After dropping bags, the day is spent in the surrounding countryside. First, a visit to a local husky kennel to meet the dogs and their mushers, with an option for a wheeled sleigh ride through the forest. Afterwards, it's on to a traditional reindeer farm run by a local family, providing a chance to interact with the animals and learn about the indigenous Sámi herding culture. A traditional lunch is served on the farm before returning to Rovaniemi for a free evening.

Across the Arctic Circle
Day 4 of 7Today's trip crosses the Arctic Circle line to Santa Claus Village, a year-round Christmas-themed amusement park. The main attraction is the post office, where you can send mail stamped from the Arctic Circle. There's free time to explore the village and have lunch before returning to Rovaniemi. Later in the day, a transfer leads out to the wilderness of Kuoksa for a campfire experience, taking advantage of the endless daylight of the midnight sun.

Day 5 of 7The day presents a choice of two guided excursions into the Lapland wilderness. The first option is a ride on fat-tire e-bikes through forests and across rugged swamps. The second is a hike along local nature trails, with opportunities to learn about the local flora and forage for seasonal berries. Both activities conclude with a snack of sausage, cookies, and juice by a campfire at a lake before a free afternoon and evening back in Rovaniemi.

Day 6 of 7The last full day in Lapland is completely free for independent activities. This is a chance to revisit a site, relax in town, or arrange an optional excursion. Common local activities include fishing trips on one of the region's many lakes or booking time in a traditional Finnish wood-fired sauna. The day is yours to structure as you see fit before a final evening in Rovaniemi.
